A Family Affair at The Banker's House in Shelby, NC

When Rachel reached out about Coordination of her wedding, it was an immediate match. I love celebrating blended families! Rachel and Andy got married in October at the historic and beautiful Banker's House in Shelby, NC.

Since this couple opted out of a rehearsal the night before, we did a quick run-through with her sons that morning. Sometimes, kids can present a challenge when it comes to Ceremony coordination. These two were pros!

After rehearsal, the bride got busy getting dressed and ready, and I took to the old horse stable for reception setup. Yes, a horse stable. Yes, it was awesome! I love having the opportunity to mark unique spaces off my list of "want to work a wedding there." If you're a horse enthusiast and having a small (max 50 guest) wedding, check this venue out!

The couple opted for a "first look." If you've been considering doing a first look, I love them. They are a great way to get some of the nerves out of your system by seeing "your person." Some couples opt to do private vows during this time or spend a few minutes together before the chaos of guests and celebration makes the day fly by.

As a side note, I LOVE when women choose dresses with trains. The photo-ops are fantastic, and (with decent bustling) it won't interfere with you dancing the night away! Take a look at how the train flows down the stairs!

The ceremony was warm, intimate, and beautiful. I draped one of the trees on the property to use as a backdrop for the natural outdoor ceremony.

The groom's sister made their wedding cake. It was absolutely delicious! If I remember correctly, there was a raspberry filling with a simple syrup to moisten the layers. If you have an incredibly talented friend/family member looking to break into the wedding scene, why not let them have a go at creating a sweet treat for your wedding?

The couple danced the evening away with their boys, while I handled light cleanup duties and coordinated vendor departures. We did an LED light wand send-off for the couple to close out the festivities! If your venue has restrictions on flames (or you have lots of children in attendance and are worried about it), LEDs are a great way to do your send-off with lots of festivity and flair!

Theirs is a love full of adventure, heart, and family! Here's to many, many happy and healthy years together!
